We have lots of volunteer opportunities for anyone who's interested in helping towards our mission! The available opportunities are subject to change since sometimes, we have a full team! However, we're open to having as many volunteers as we can get.
Photography and videography
We need more photographers to help us take pictures of our adoptable animals. Our photographers need to be able to visit the shelter AT LEAST every two weeks (although weekly is preferred). You also need to own your own professional camera, and some sort of photo editing software (whether its basic or something more advanced). All people are welcome, but those with experience are preferred. This is an extremely important part of our adoption process! If you're interested in helping us out, contact us today!
We're looking for some volunteers to help us find different small businesses and organizations to work with towards our mission. Finding places that give out resources, finding businesses that donate a portion of their sales to rescue, and searching for ways to expand our rescue's reach are all included in this! We don't have an age requirement, but we do need to go through a bit of an evaluation process before beginning. You don't have to live in California, though it's sometimes helpful! If you're interested in helping us out, contact us today!
We're never in shortage of dog walkers for our dogs! We have some dogs who need to lose a bit of weight who are in particular need of some more walks. If you'd like to be a dog walker, make sure you're available in the morning when it's not too hot. If the weather's cool, you're welcome to come in and walk a dog! No experience is required, but we do ask that you walk dogs responsibly and pick up after them. We provide leashes and poop bags! Dog walkers are allowed to come in at anytime prior to 5 PM to walk their designated dogs or any dogs that are from our rescue. Please be sure to check our adoptable pet list periodically so you can learn everyone's names. Dog walkers should come in at least once a week if possible!
We need a few people to help us keep our cat room clean! We've got some rambunctious kittens that tend to make a mess. Our cleanup crew would be responsible for keeping the litter box clean, washing bowls, filling up food, brushing the kitties, sweeping the floors, wiping countertops, putting dirty bedding in the washer, and organizing any supplies that we store in the cat room. There aren't time requirements for this, but once a week is best!
At Home student projects
This opportunity doesn't require you to come on site except to drop off your creations, but we'd love for volunteers to help make dog chews, catnip filled toys, and dog toys for our animals. If you're looking to complete community service hours, 5 toys = 1 hour of service and 1 batch of chews = 1 hour of service! These are great projects for school clubs.
