VIDA Rescue. Get Involved!

We are a 501(c)3 rescue based in Los Angeles and have >100 animals in our care at a time, both at our shelter location and in foster care, and have found homes for thousands of animals over the years. We are dedicated to finding loving, forever homes for our animals and to ending animal suffering. Our rescues come from local cities, owner surrenders, and the streets of Mexico and Central America. We also fund spay/neuter campaigns in the US, Mexico, and Guatemala, and we provide low-cost clinic services for the local community.

We travel all across LA, Ventura, Orange, Riverside, and San Diego Counties and beyond, and we are looking to expand to actively serve more areas in Los Angeles. We can’t do it without you! We operate a bit differently from other large rescues/shelters — we welcome anyone that wants to be a part of our work, and the sky’s the limit for getting involved. If you’ve ever wanted to get involved and make a big change for animals, here’s the place to do it. See our biggest supply needs, get links to adopt, foster, donate, collaborate, volunteer, and sponsor us!

We adopt out to cities all over SoCal and can potentially travel to meet you if needed. We review applications within 24 hours and match based on best fit, not first-come-first-serve.

We update our list regularly with our biggest needs. Become a regular supply donor & help fulfill our wishlists this holiday season!! Make a difference, regardless of how big or small.

Monthly donors are critical for keeping us afloat. We are not directly government-funded, so community support provides the backbone for our work! Donate even just $5 (a coffee) each week. A little goes a long way when everyone pitches in.

Volunteer in-person, remotely, or within your local community. There are so many opportunities to get involved to help animals.

Provide a temporary home for even just 1-2 weeks for an animal. It helps them get out of the shelter environment and opens up space for us to rescue more animals. Supplies and medical care provided.

Bring a pup out on a day hike, trip to the dog beach/park, or to the pet store! Help give them a taste of life and a break from the kennel shelter environment.
