Thank you for choosing adoption! At VIDA Rescue, we believe every animal deserves a safe, loving, and permanent home. Whether you're looking for a playful puppy, a loyal adult dog, or a cuddly cat, we're here to help you find the right companion.
Our adoption process is designed to ensure the best possible match between each rescued animal and their future family.
Step 1: Meet Our Adoptable Pets
Browse our available dogs and cats to find a companion that matches your lifestyle, home, and preferences.
Each animal has a unique personality and story. Take your time exploring their profiles to learn more about them.
Step 2: Submit an Adoption Application
Found an animal you're interested in? Complete our online adoption application to get started.
Our adoption coordinators review applications based on compatibility, not on a first-come, first-served basis.
Applications are generally reviewed within 1–2 business days, although response times may vary.
Step 3: Application Review & Approval
Our adoption team carefully reviews each application to determine whether the animal and prospective adopter are a suitable match.
We may contact you with additional questions or discuss other animals that could be a better fit.
Minimum adoption age requirements:
Dogs and puppies: 21 years or older
Cats and kittens: 18 years or older
Applications remain valid for three months and can be considered for multiple animals.
Step 4: Schedule an Adoption Appointment
If your application is selected, an adoption coordinator will contact you to schedule a meeting.
Our shelter operates by appointment only. Walk-in visits to meet adoptable animals are not permitted.

Some adoptable animals are housed in foster homes, so meeting arrangements may vary.
Step 5: Meet Your Potential New Companion
During your appointment, you'll have the opportunity to meet the animal and determine whether they're a good fit for your family.
Our team can answer questions about the animal's personality, medical history, and care needs.
Same-day adoption may be possible. Trial periods and foster-to-adopt arrangements may also be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Step 6: Welcome Your New Family Member Home!
Congratulations on taking the next step toward giving a rescued animal a forever home!
Once your adoption is finalized, you'll receive available medical records and information to help your new companion transition into their new environment.
Remember the Rule of 3s:
3 Days: Your pet may need time to decompress.
3 Weeks: Your pet may begin adjusting to their new routine.
3 Months: Your pet may feel more confident and comfortable.
Every animal adjusts differently, so patience and consistency are essential.
